GENERAL INFORMATION:

Starting 2019, Sibiu has also joined the brewpub fray, with its very first venue of this sort. Although brewing since 2018, Downtown Craft Brewery (or B13) only started selling their beers in the summer of 2019.

Part of a building complex that includes a hostel and a separate burger restaurant, all part of the same business, the brewery takes center stage in the downstairs restaurant, but can also be enjoyed on an ample terrace. The brewery itself is small, consisting of three 1000 liters fermenting vessels, as well as a four-stages filtration system. So far, their beers are brewed once every two months, and the focus is mainly on traditional styles, while looking to branch out into IPAs and wheat beers in the future. The beers are available in three measures (300, 500 and 1000ml), which makes for an excellent opportunity to try them all during your visit.

With a food menu that also stays on the traditional side, the ribs are definitely the house signature dish, although they have plenty of other options as well, many cooked with the beer brewed on site. It is worth visiting them during their happy hours, between 14:00 and 17:00, when they offer a 10% discount. Tours are also available for groups, if booked in advance.

Their beers are available both on tap at the brewpub, as well as 330ml bottles. So far, you will find them around the city of Sibiu, as well as Fântânița.
